How to
become
A
Missionary
...Regardless of situational
difficulties...
Missionaries Desperately
Needed:
-
Time is short. The work is
big.
-
The work ahead of us is much bigger than the
work behind us.
-
Jesus will
soon return to this earth.
-
When Jesus comes, you will give an
account of all you have
done.
-
You will also give an account
of all you have failed to
do.
-
Jesus called
every disciple to carry out the Gospel
Commission.
-
There is no excuse for
non-involvement!
-
Many lazy Christians fail to
become what God created them to be.
-
Anyone can
be a missionary, and everyone should be
one...
-
...regardless of
situational difficulties...
-
God
always blesses His missionaries...incredibly and
abundantly.
-
God is willing to use
completely unworthy people, like you and
me! |
...A MISSION STRATEGY
THAT WILL NOT AND CANNOT
FAIL:
-
To become a missionary, you will need to
give yourself to reach a
people group who desperatly need to be saved.
-
You will never reach anyone till you
actually 'give yourself' to reaching others.
-
Identify clearly who these people are.
Start praying for them, by name.
-
Do not allow yourself to be easily
distracted. Unless your heart is on the people, you will never reach
them.
-
Stay clearly focussed. Keep your eye
single. Continue pray for them until you can see clearly how to
reach them.
-
Think in practical terms regarding how to
reach them. Make plans, then implement those
plans.
-
This people group can be anywhere in the
world.
-
Do not procrastinate because you dont know
who to reach.
-
Souls are to be found everywhere, in every
country and every walk of life. They are all around.
-
Open your eyes, and look on the fields,
for they are white, ready to harvest. (See John 4)
-
Select a group of people-any size, any
place. Select them. Pray that God will help you to select the right
people.
-
Focus on their needs. Identify their
needs. Meet their needs. Minister to their
needs.
-
Go to the people, mingle with them as one
who desires their good.
-
Then find out what they need (not their
wants, but genuine needs). Decide exactly what they need.
-
Needs include material/temporal, physical,
educational, emotional, and spiritual lack of every
kind.
-
Minister to these needs, and thereby win
the confidence of those you seek to reach.
-
Then bid them follow Jesus-by
example.
-
Use multiple
approaches. Dont use only one method of reaching them. Use any and
all. Find the door to their
hearts.
-
Jesus was our example. Follow Him: Preach,
teach and heal.
-
When one method fails, try another. Do not
give up. Dont get stuck on one method.
-
Utilize multimedia, literature, and every
other avenue of communication within your reach.
-
Find out how you can get access to the
people. Be practical about it.
-
Adaptablity confuses Satan's agents. Be
adaptable. Be a lateral thinker-get around the
problems.
-
Become a channel. Place yourself between
those who have, and those who have not, between heaven and earth, between
light and darkness. Then start giving and
sharing light and blessings. You will be completely
amazed at what will happen!
-
When you place yourself in the channel,
God will start utilizing you. His grace will find a way to flow through
you. Its His work.
-
Do not fear that you will lose by giving.
Never believe that lie! God will give you more than you can ever give
away.
-
Those who feed the hungry will never lack
food-food of every and any kind. So feed the people with what you have
got.
-
Dont wait for anything or for anyone. Start using
what you have already got. What is in your hand?
-
Make yourself useful. Utilize the many
opportunities, advantages, blessings, assets, privileges and talents
that you have, regardless of how small they are.
-
Do not meditate on your failures,
mistakes, or inadequacies.
-
Be faithful with every blessing you have
got right now! Make sure everything you have is being used to full
advantage in the work.
-
Be willing to risk what you have in the
process. What can you lose? God will take care of
you.
-
Keep it simple. Dont complicate the
matter. Your success is in your simplicity.
-
Avoid being too sophisticated. Go straight
to the heart. Cut the frills out and stay on track.
-
Complexity often slows the work down too
much. If something is holding you back, drop it. Keep the momentum
going.
-
Satan can easily mess your plans if they
are too delicate and too dependent on human complexity.
-
Simple methods are more dependable and
successful.
-
Use success to create more successes. Count your
blessings all the time. Keep praising.
Dont stop rejoicing in the Lord.
-
As soon as you have gained a victory,
praise God for that victory-which is His.
-
Make mention of God's goodness to others.
Shout it from the housetops!
-
Tell all you can that God is in control.
This will have a reflex effect on your own soul, and will lead to many
more blessings.
-
It will also encourage others, and
frighten the devil. Satan is terrified of praise to
God.
-
Teach to teach. Help others to reach
others. Shepherd your flock. Reach the world, one soul at a
time. Combine forces. Unity is strength.
-
Multiply your influence. Realize that
every person has a network of precious contacts.
-
Take good care of every lamb and sheep in
the fold of your experience. Shepherd them faithfully.
-
Regard every soul as precious. Guide
others to reach others.
-
Teach the teachable to teach others
who are teachable. This is the quickest way to do God's
work.
-
It will cost you everything to become a
missionary. But that's OK. Remember: the rewards
are out of this world! (See also Mark
10:29,30)

opportunities! We feel the time has come to use all of
them to push His work forward!
If, after prayerful
consideration, you also feel impressed to help out in
some way with this project,
then for your own
benefit, we encourage you to decide now
to run the risk of being richly
blessed!
We have found that the spirit
of generosity brings about a 'reflex blessing' on the giver,
and we want you to experience
this, just as we have-so we can all become part of the channel of
God's grace & blessing together!
Why not claim Luke
6:38, take the risk, and see what might happen to
you?

Blogs Just Posted from Vanuatu
Back in Vanuatu
We have just got back to Vanuatu after a very refreshing time in Australia. Preparations are under way for the soon arrival of a family from USA who will head up our new Rural Vocational Training Program. Just carrried out a Cesarian Section for a lady with Diabetes-the parents are delighted with their new and only begotten son! Only a few days later, another Cesarian for a lady with a malpresentation-both mother and baby are doing well. Praise God for His blessing on this effort to help this family!

Needles Just Arrived
The Needles Family have arrived safely from USA. They had to be rerouted via Australia to due to a storm in Fiji area, then en route to Vila their plane had to abort landing at Santo due to the same weather system in that area. But they are well and making preparations for their new work here in Vanuatu! We are excited to see what the future holds for this family. Please pray for them!

Needles First Blog From Vanuatu
Hello Friends! My husband Mike, our kids Taylor 13, Sidney 11, and Ethan 8, and I want to extend to each of you a warm greeting from Gaua, Vanuatu! Our family arrived here about a week and a half ago and plan to stay a year to help the Turnbull familys work. We are adjusting to the difference in both temperature and landscape.
Our family came from Iowa, U.S.A. where it is currently the middle of winter. We came from snow covered trees and farmland in the middle of the United States to a very hot and humid jungle island here in the South Pacific. Quite a change!
We hope to assist the Turnbulls in the much needed medical, construction and education work that they are undergoing here in Gaua. My husband is a builder by profession, I am a Registered Nurse, and our kids are willing to help out in all different areas as they can. We are homeschooling our kids and came here specifically to give nursing assistance to Dr. Turnbull, for Mike to develop and begin a Trade School and also for us to build a much needed staff house on the school campus. The Lord has provided about half of the funds for the staff house through many faithful donors like you. Thank you!
Please keep us in your prayers as we get settled and help with the Lords work here in Gaua, Vanuatu. We will keep you updated on our progress!
